What is an incentive?

An incentive is generally regarded as a tool to motivate desired behavior from a specific group of people. Often used by companies to trigger certain behavior of their staff, clients or stakeholders. Incentives unlike commissions or compensation are generally non cash rewards. Either in tangible form (merchandise, giftcards etc) or in experiential form (group travel, vacation).
